Consistency is key to winning. What do they need to do to be in the Open?

When talking to rising senior QB Wyatt Horton, you can hear the maturity in his voice as he takes on the task of leading this Pinnacle team into the fall of '24. An 'Open' appearance is on the mind of every major program in Arizona.

When asked about his legacy and what he wants to leave behind as a Pioneer, he replied, 'I want to do what none of the greats have been able to do yet... And that's win a state championship. Simple.'

Horton stands confidently and firmly as a true believer in his Pioneer program. Just two seasons ago, as a wide-eyed young gun, Horton took the Pioneers to a 6A state championship game, where they came up short in the second half to a really good Highland team.

Depth happened to be a huge takeaway from that game. As the Pioneers got hot in the first, but as the game went on and a few questionable calls were made, depth was the biggest problem on that warm December day.

With key returners like Jace Pina and Dean Vincent, as well as a few more, I believe that 'depth' is still going to be the biggest concern for this program, or for any program, rather. 'To play deeper into fall, you have to have everyone to ball.
