Papago Pumas Roll Past Salt River 43-0 for First Win of 2026 Season

September 19, 2026, The Papago Pumas put together their most complete performance of the young season Saturday night, jumping out early and never looking back in a 43-0 shutout victory over the Salt River Scorpions at Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix.
The matchup was scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Sunnyslope, where Papago delivered a commanding performance on both sides of the football.
Sophomore quarterback Brody Snyder helped set the tone from the opening quarter, throwing three touchdown passesand consistently pushing the football downfield. Snyder looked comfortable operating the offense, spreading the ball around and giving Papago an early advantage it would continue to build throughout the night.
The Pumas were far from one-dimensional. Papago also leaned on a physical rushing attack, highlighted by a strong performance from No. 8, who repeatedly ran through contact and helped keep the offense balanced. Public roster information currently lists No. 8 as Jamar Scott at linebacker, so TummClouTv Sports is leaving the rushing standout unnamed until that game-day jersey assignment can be independently confirmed.
Papago Controls the Game Early
From the opening possessions, Papago played with structure and discipline.

The victory marked Papago’s first win of the 2026 season and gave Head Coach William Strother and his staff a strong performance to build on moving forward.
Papago’s public team information identifies William Strother as a primary team contact, while the program’s public social profile identifies him as the Pumas’ head coach and notes conference championships in 2021 and 2025.
That background showed in the way Papago managed the game Saturday. The Pumas established control early, maintained their defensive intensity and used the second half to develop depth rather than simply chasing points.
The final margin was convincing, but the larger takeaway may be the way Papago won.
The Pumas played disciplined football, created opportunities for multiple players and showed the type of balance that can become increasingly important as the season moves forward.
