Pregame Sports Grill Players of the Week: Arizona Standouts Make Their Mark
Another week of college football brought another strong group of performances from players with Arizona ties, and the Pregame Sports Grill Players of the Week honors continue to spotlight the talent coming out of the Valley.
At quarterback, Demond Williams II earned Back of the Week after putting together one of his best performances of the season for Washington. Williams completed 27 of 33 passes for 373 yards and four touchdowns in a 48-16 win over Eastern Washington, finishing the day with an 81.8% completion rate and 406 total yards.

Duce Robinson was named Receiver of the Week after exploding for six catches, 135 yards and a touchdown against Alabama. Robinson averaged 22.5 yards per reception and produced several explosive plays, including a 40-yard catch.

Up front, Zereoue Williams earned Offensive Lineman of the Week. The Mountain Pointe product has started each of Utah’s first three games at left tackle and helped the Utes roll up 480 yards of offense in their 33-0 win over Utah State. Utah rushed for 194 yards and threw for another 286 in the shutout victory.

Defensively, Noah Carter took home Edge Rusher of the Week. Through his first two games, the Georgia Tech defensive end had recorded four tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one forced fumble. His pressure off the edge has made him one of the Valley defenders to keep an eye on this season.

Trey Reynolds earned Linebacker of the Week after leading Utah with a career-high 10 tackles in its 33-0 win over Utah State. Through three games, the Queen Creek product led Utah with 16 total tackles, while also adding a tackle for loss and an interception.

Washington safety Alex McLaughlin was selected as Defensive Back of the Week after another active performance. The Hamilton High School product finished with seven tackles, a forced fumble and a pass breakup against Eastern Washington. Through three games, McLaughlin had already posted an interception in each of Washington’s first two contests while consistently making plays around the football.

Kenny Worthy III earned Impact Player of the Week for Cincinnati. The Centennial High School product has been active in the Bearcats’ secondary, recording six tackles and an interception through Cincinnati’s first three games.

At the HBCU level, Tyrique Washington was recognized as the HBCU Player of the Week. The former Mountain Pointe standout has already worked his way into the lineup as a freshman offensive lineman at Livingstone College. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound lineman appeared in two of the Blue Bears’ first three games and has been part of an offense averaging nearly 376 total yards per game.

Rounding out the winners is Navi Bruzon, the Division II Player of the Week. The Liberty High School product continued his strong start at CSU Pueblo, throwing for 224 yards in a 33-6 win over Chadron State. One week earlier, Bruzon delivered a monster performance with 421 passing yards and four touchdowns on 22-of-27 passing, earning RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
